Applications for the 2014 Miss Tomball Pageant and the Tomball Holiday Parade are still being accepted. Greater Tomball Area Chamber of Commerce officials said that applications for Miss Tomball will be accepted through the end of business Oct. 16, while parade applications will be accepted through Oct. 18
The pageant will be held in the Salem Lutheran Church worship center, Nov. 23, at 7 p.m. The chamber will also present the Tomball Holiday Paradw. This year's theme is "Cartoons on Parade." Both events will be celebrating their 48th consecutive year.
Young women interested in applying as contestants in the Miss Tomball Pageant must be between the ages of 15 and 19; reside in the Tomball Independent School District or have a physical Tomball home address; be home-schooled or enrolled in a public or private school with a Tomball address; and classified as a junior or senior. Winner of the 2014 Miss Tomball title will receive a $1,000 scholarship.
The parade will begin at 10 a.m. on Main Street. The annual two-hour procession celebrates holidays including Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day and draws thousands for the parade, lunch and shopping.
