Waller ISD will provide free and reduced-price meals for students served under the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program for the 2012-2013 school year. This year, meal applications will be able to be completed and submitted online at www.mealappnow.com/manwal.
Computers will be available for use at each campus and the Waller ISD Food Service Office, located at 2214 Waller St. Officials informed that completing applications online is the preferred method and may expedite the application process. Applications will also be distributed to students on the first day of school with a letter informing all households of the availability of free and reduced-priced meals for students.
Parents and guardians must send money for meals until they receive notice that their application has been approved. Any negative charges incurred for meals due to a child having no money will need to be paid. If the household becomes eligible for free or reduced priced meals after the application is received and approved, it is not retroactive. Meal prices for the 2012-2013 school year are breakfast is $1.25 at all campuses, $1.85 for an elementary lunch and $2.10 for a secondary lunch. Students will be allowed to eat at their prior year’s status until Oct. 9.
Applications may be submitted at any time during the school year. The information provided will only be used for the purpose of determining eligibility. Applications may be selected for verification at any time during the year.
If households have received a letter stating their child(ren) are approved for free or reduced-priced meals prior to the first day of school, it is not necessary to complete a new application for the students listed on the letter. If there are additional children in the household not listed on the letter directly approving them for the program, please contact the Food Service Office at 936.931.2347 to have the children added to the list.
