HOUSTON (AP) — A Houston woman has been charged with killing her spouse during an argument that included her daughter.
Police say 46-year-old Dedra Jackson was being held Monday on a murder charge. The case involves Saturday night's fatal shooting of 44-year-old Nathaniel Jackson at a residence.
Police say Dedra Jackson had a confrontation with her 22-year-old daughter and her husband was shot when he tried to intervene. Nathaniel Jackson was dead at the scene.
Bond has been set at $75,000 for Dedra Jackson. Online jail records did not list an attorney for the woman, who was booked on Sunday.

DENVER (AP) — A representative for Willie Nelson says the country music legend is feeling better after canceling a weekend performance and will be back on the road.
The 79-year-old Nelson was scheduled to perform Saturday at a private home in Castle Pines Village, Colo. The benefit was for an organization that provides animal care and shelter in the Denver area.
The host of the fundraiser, Fred Bartlit, told The Denver Post (http://bit.ly/NedGyD ) that he was informed that Nelson was taken to the hospital after having trouble breathing.
But Elaine Shock said Monday that Nelson was not hospitalized and no other concerts will be canceled. His next performance is scheduled Tuesday in Dallas.

MCKINNEY, Texas (AP) — The mother of a North Texas fitness instructor found dead in a field says the victim's ex-boyfriend seemed obsessed with her.
Testimony began Monday in the McKinney trial of Terrance Deering Black. He's charged with capital murder in the slaying of Susan Loper of Frisco. Her beaten body was found April 20, 2011, in a Frisco field near a highway.
Catherine Miller was the first witness and she described to jurors how Black gave her daughter expensive gifts.
Prosecutors opened their case by saying Black had a fixation on Loper. The defense said police should have spent more time investigating other suspects, including the victim's most recent boyfriend.
Black was arrested in Arizona, several days after the victim's body was found, when he jumped into the Grand Canyon.

CHICAGO (AP) — It's been a struggle all season for Bud Norris to get in the win column.
Now he's struggling to just stay on the field.
Norris was battered for three home runs before getting hit with a line drive and exiting early on Wednesday, and the Houston Astros lost to the Chicago Cubs 7-2.
David DeJesus hit two home runs and Justin Germano breezed through six innings to help Chicago win the three-game series.
Norris (5-10) allowed six runs on eight hits over 3 1-3 innings and hasn't won since May 21.
Following DeJesus' second homer, Josh Vitters hit a liner up the middle that deflected off Norris' foot toward the third base bag. After two warm-up pitches, Norris bent over, shook his head toward the team trainer and exited the game. He was diagnosed with a left foot contusion.
"It really squared up my foot pretty good," Norris said. "I knew with my landing foot it wasn't going to be pretty. I'm glad I came out because I didn't want to hurt it any worse than it was."
Astros manager Brad Mills said Norris will be re-evaluated Friday.
Norris' winless streak extended to 13 starts.
"I just felt like I was inconsistent and that all the mistakes I made got punished," he said. "It's just frustrating because you're trying to make good pitches."
The Astros, owners of the worst record in baseball, have dropped 26 of their last 29 road games and are 12-48 away from home this season.
A Houston offense that scored 10 runs the day before was stymied by Germano (2-2), who was removed after giving up a single and a walk in the sixth. James Russell entered in relief and loaded the bases, but escaped the jam giving up just one run.
Germano was charged with two runs on five hits over 6 1-3 innings. He walked one and struck out six, including the side in the fourth.
"He was throwing every pitch that he wanted for strikes," Jose Altuve said. "He was dominating the whole game long."
Altuve had three singles for Houston, but Marwin Gonzalez followed by hitting into a double play all three times.
Scott Moore homered leading off the second for Houston for his second homer in as many days. He had three extra-base hits Tuesday.
Starlin Castro also homered among his three hits for Chicago, which won for just the third time in 15 games. The Cubs avoided falling to a season-worst 26 games under .500.
DeJesus' third-inning homer was his first in 54 career games at Wrigley Field. And he didn't waste any time notching his second career Wrigley homer, blasting the first pitch of his next at-bat out to center field.
"After the first at-bat, I felt confident that I saw all of (Norris') pitches," DeJesus said. "I just wanted to be aggressive on him, I knew he'd pump a lot of first-pitch heaters right down the middle."
He tied a career best with four hits and drove in three runs, reaching base five times. Astros reliever Chuckie Fick was booed in the sixth for intentionally walking DeJesus with runners on second and third.
Castro hit a two-run shot in the third, his 12th of the season.
Chicago's Brett Jackson tied the game at 1 with a two-out triple in the second inning. The low liner skipped past center fielder Brandon Barnes and Castro trotted home from third.
It was Jackson's first career RBI. He also doubled in the sixth. The 24-year-old has struggled since being called up from Triple-A Iowa on Aug. 5. He was just 4 for 28 with 16 strikeouts before the triple.
Notes: The Cubs fired vice president of player personnel Oneri Fleita. Fleita had been with the organization since 1995. . Astros RHP Francisco Cordero flew to Miami to complete his U.S. Citizenship. Cordero has been on the 15-day disabled list since Aug. 3 with a sprained toe ligament. He was acquired from Toronto on July 20. . After an off-day Thursday, Travis Wood (4-8, 4.52 ERA) pitches the series opener for the Cubs in Cincinnati against the Reds' Bronson Arroyo (8-7, 3.95). . Dallas Keuchel (1-4, 5.29) will start for Houston at home on Friday against Arizona's Wade Miley (12-8, 3.02).

OXNARD, Calif. (AP) — Jason Witten is going to have to get used to not doing much of anything if he wants to play in the season opener next month.
Dallas Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said Wednesday that his Pro Bowl tight end sustained a "slightly lacerated" spleen in the preseason opener Monday night against Oakland. The best way for Witten to heal is to remain as inactive as possible.
"It's a very serious injury and we're really taking this thing day by day," Garrett said. "He has to be very still and idle for the next week to 10 days, so you won't see him out here on the practice field. He won't play in the game this week or next week. We've just got to make sure he heals as well as possible, as quickly as possible."
Witten is expected to miss the rest of the preseason, starting with Saturday night's game at San Diego. The Cowboys (No. 15 in the AP Pro32) open the season in three weeks, Sept. 5, at the defending Super Bowl champion New York Giants.
The coach said doctors will reassess Witten next week "after we've had a few days of him not doing anything." Surgery would be an option if the spleen isn't healing properly by then.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said after practice Wednesday that he hasn't even looked at whether Witten would be ready for the opener against the Giants.
"We basically were more interested in (the) rest of this week and getting that healed back up," Jones said. "It's diagnosed real good, with the cut on his spleen. He can't do anything or move around too much. And then it heals up like any cut, hopefully he will be back."
Witten apparently got hurt after he caught a pass from a scrambling Tony Romo and was immediately hit from the side by Oakland linebacker Rolando McClain. The play resulted in a 2-yard loss.
Witten has missed only one game in his nine NFL seasons. That was as a rookie in 2003 when he had a broken jaw.
"Asking Wit to be still and idle is a hard thing, that's the biggest challenge right now. But he has to do that, he just has to let time heal it," Garrett said. "Jason has gotten off to a tremendous, tremendous start to training camp and laid a great foundation for himself. ... He's looked as good as I've seen him look since I've been around him."
Witten is a seven-time Pro Bowl player who is one of Romo's best friends and one of the quarterback's favorite targets. The tight end has 696 career receptions, second in team history behind only Hall of Fame receiver Michael Irvin at 750.
Because Witten has started every game the past five seasons, and all 77 games Romo has started since becoming their No. 1 quarterback in 2006, the Cowboys aren't concerned about him missing some time in training camp.
"I don't think this, at the end of the day, him being away from our football team and off the practice field, is going to be that detrimental to him. In fact, I think it's going to allow him to get his legs back a little bit, and be fresh and ready to go," Garrett said. "We're going to spin this thing positively and say hey this rest will help him."
The Cowboys signed free-agent tight end Harry Flaherty, the nephew of the head coach and tight ends coach John Garrett. He signed with New Orleans as an undrafted rookie out of Princeton last season but was cut early in camp. To make room on the roster for Flaherty, the Cowboys waived injured guard Bill Nagy.
John Phillips, a fourth-year player, will likely fill in as a starter for Witten. Rookie tight end James Hanna will also get more work.
Phillips missed the game against the Raiders because of a sprained ankle but was back at practice Wednesday. He said the swelling was gone and that his ankle was good, plus talked about the difficulty of being without Witten.
"Can't replace a guy like that. I am sure he's going to do the things needed to get back. I am sure he will be ready to go when the season rolls around," Phillips said. "He's a leader of this team, a leader of this offense. Not trying to replace him. He will be able to lead from the sidelines. Help us out in film room."
Notes: Garrett said starting center Phil Costa, who missed the Oakland game with lower back stiffness, likely would not practice Wednesday or Thursday. Because Friday is only a walk-through, Costa's availability for Saturday's game at San Diego is questionable. ... The Cowboys are winding down their camp in Oxnard. After a walkthrough Friday morning, they break camp and head to San Diego. ... Rookie WR Danny Coale missed practice again Wednesday with a sore left quadriceps.
