The monthly Christian Business Luncheon will host Salem Lutheran School's Mary Beth Gaertner as the guest speaker, during the Aug. 13 event.
Gaertner has been an educator and administrator in the northwest Houston area for over 30 years. She has worked as a speech pathologist and a teacher at local schools and served as an adjunct professor at both the Lone Star College System and Sam Houston State University. She currently serves as the principal at Salem Lutheran School in Tomball which became a National Blue Ribbon School in 2007. Gaertner was named a National Distinguished Principal in 2012 by the National Association for Elementary School Principals.
Gaertner is also an author. Her 2011 book for educators, "Way to Go!" offers a research-based method to achieve positive communication between parents and teachers and provides the philosophy and educational research behind the strategy for the positive communication model.
Gaertner will speak Aug. 13, at the Beckendorf Conference Center at Lone Star College-Tomball, 30555 Tomball Parkway.
Doors open at 11:30 a.m. for the noon to 1 p.m. luncheon. RSVPs are not necessary but available online at ChristianBusinessLuncheon.org. Freewill donations are accepted in lieu of payment.
