Toni Carnie, Safety Officer and Emergency Management Coordinator for Tomball Regional Medical Center (TRMC), will discuss "Emergency Disaster Preparedness 101 - What Can We Do?" at the "Be Tomball Ready" (BTR) meeting Thursday, Nov. 21, from 11:30 - 1 p.m. The event will be held at the group's new meeting location in the TRMC first floor conference room, near the hospital Emergency Entrance, 605 Holderreith Blvd. in Tomball.
Mike Ott, Chair of the Greater Tomball Chamber of Commerce BTR committee, said the brown bag lunch and learn meetings cover different topics each month and are open to everyone.
"Bring a friend, bring your lunch or pick up some from food from the TRMC cafeteria and join us to learn about a variety of personal and public safety issues including how to prepare, survive and recover from a catastrophic event," he said.

Carnie is responsible for policy development and implementation of TRMC's Emergency Management and Environment of Care Safety Management Plans. She is an EMT-Paramedic, Master-Level Certified Healthcare Safety Professional and Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Non-violent Physical Crisis Intervention Instructor. She completed numerous Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) training courses and attended The Center for Domestic Preparedness training in Anniston, Alabama at the Noble Training Facility for Healthcare Emergency Management. Carnie was elected by Emergency Management Professionals in the Region's North Corridor as the Regional Healthcare Preparedness Coalition Director in 2013.
