2012 Concordia Lutheran High School graduate, Chance Gray, was invited to join the Texas A&M football team as a walk-on running back. Gray is a transfer football player from Harding University where he redshirted his freshman year.
Chance attended a walk on tryout at A&M Aug. 27 and received a phone call a few days later asking him to join the team.
Gray was a football standout at Concordia, winning All-District MVP, First Team All-District running back and First Team All-State for both his junior and senior years. He also ran track and was a State Champion on the 4 x 200m relay team his junior year.
Gray's dream has always been to attend Texas A&M as a third generation Aggie and if he was going to play football in college, he decided it could only be as a Texas Aggie. His grandfather, Dale DeRouen, was a walk on track star and his mother Annette Gray is from the class of 1984. The family has been Texas A&M football season ticket holders since the early 1970's. Now they have a special reason for attending games.
