Organizers believe the streets of Tomball will be filled with more than 15,000 people, during the upcoming 41st annual Tomball Night festivities Aug. 2.
Organized by the Greater Tomball Chamber of Commerce, Tomball Night still runs with the same intention of encouraging shopping in the city, however, as the event has grown, it has turned into a major marketing tool for the region.
"This year there's so much to choose from, with the addition of new retail establishments and restaurants since the last Tomball Night," said Tomball Night Chair Rob Greening, of Nitelites of Houston.
The slate of businesses participating in the event are numerous and listed on Page 5 of this issue of The Tribune. Many of them will hold special sales during the event, allowing big savings for patrons, according to Greening.
Also on tap for the event are several music acts at various locations, as well as the popular Parade of Lights.
The recently crowned 4A Texas state champion Tomball Cougars baseball team will be honored as the Grand Marshals of the parade.
“We are proud to highlight the Tomball Cougar baseball team," Greening said.
The parade will travel down Main Street to the Tomball Depot Center. A fireworks display will follow the parade.
The popular Mystery Shopper returns, as there will be 10 roaming mystery shoppers throughout the city. Those that correctly identify win a $100 cash prize on the spot. The clues for identifying the mystery shoppers are in the Mystery Shopper Poem on Page 7.
"It is because of our partnership with the City of Tomball, Tomball German Sister City Organization and support from Star Sponsor Fred Haas Toyota Country that Tomball Night continues to grow and be successful," Greening said. "We are preparing for a huge crowd this year so join us on Aug. 2 to see what all of the excitement is about."
