Troopers said that a Magnolia man was killed when he lost control of his car and struck a utility pole, after passing another vehicle in a no-passing zone June 20.
Officials identified the man as Noel Nickolas, 23, after an extensive search because the man had no identification on him or inside the vehicle.
Troopers said that the man was traveling south on Nichols Sawmill when he passed another vehicle while traveling in a no-passing zone around a corner, just before 6 p.m. He was wearing a seatbelt.
Nickolas was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Matt Masden. His body was taken to the Montgomery County Forensic Center for autopsy.
