Tomball PD completes summer Youth Police Academy

youth police academy The Tomball Police Department hosted the 2009 Youth Police Academy the second week of June with a graduation of cadets on June 12.  The Academy training introduced the department to the youth of the community while offering instruction in a multitude of law enforcement practices such as crime scene investigation, patrol tactics, jail operations, communications, officer safety tactics, DWI investigations and building searches.

Cadets attending the Youth Police Academy attended Tomball High School and Concordia Lutheran High School as well as area home school associations. The cadets ranged from 10th grade to recently graduated high school seniors.

Cadets also took part in ride-a-longs with patrol, as well as in-house activities.
